Arch Garrison aka Craig Fortnam, Sharron Fortnam and James Larcombe  have had a busy 2010 so far, with their album ’King of the Down’ being released in February (2010) on Double Six. The Quietus have described the album as possessing ‘heart-warming emotional honesty’ with elements of ‘magical psych-folk’ and Clash Magazine have called the record a ‘slice of lofi loveliness’. This project, a rustic diversion from North Sea Radio Orchestra still captures Fortnam’s varied compositional abilities. The songs are laid down with just an acoustic guitar, an organ, and backing vocals from his wife Sharron. Fans include Stuart Maconie of BBC 6music who invited the band in for a recorded session on his show Freak Zone. The BBC aren’t the only radio station who want to indulge their listeners with this new release, art radio station Resonance FM have also broadcast a session with the band.

Arch Garrison will be taking part in the month-long Lambeth Readers and Writers Festival on the 28th May at Brixton Library – the tickets are free but you have to book in advance.
