OLIVER COATES 'SHELLEY'S ON ZENN-LA' OUT 7TH SEPTEMBER 2018 (DOMINO PUBLISHING)

Oliver Coates shares the track 'Charlev' along with the announcement of his forthcoming album 'For Shelley’s on Zenn-La' out 7th September via RVNG Int. Watch the Leah Carmen Walker directed video above.

Shelley’s on Zenn-La was made between the Elephant and Castle neighborhood of London and a future dreamscape. In this realm out of time and space, Shelley’s (Laserdome) – a once-legendary late 80s / early 90s nightclub in the industrial town of Stoke-on-Trent in the north of England – can simultaneously exist on the fictional planet of Zenn-La, and can house a devotional, alien ritual of early UK rave culture, pioneering IDM, and deep minimalism.

Cellist, composer, and producer Oliver Coates has been an artist in residency at London’s Southbank Centre, and received the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award. Coates has contributed to the recordings of Radiohead, and collaborated with Laurie Spiegel and John Luther Adams. He has also been commissioned for string and electronic arrangements by visual artist Lawrence Lek, recorded with composer Jonny Greenwood on the scores for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master and Phantom Thread and collaborated with musician Mica Levi on the 2016 album Remain Calm.

Patrick Watson 'Melody Noir'

Following the release of standalone single ‘Broken’ at the end of 2017, Patrick Watson shares Melody Noir’, a brand new second single and video directed by himself and Brigitte Poupart. “This song was inspired by an incredible singer from Venezuela, Simon Diaz. I was so inspired by his music I had to write a tune,” explains Watson. “It’s a love song dedicated to the hole inside of you.” Watch above.

The video was shot in Montreal and was “inspired by an amazing film called ‘I am Cuba’,” adds Watson. “I wanted to make a sensual but surreal dance video, where the main character slowly gets eaten by a void, embodied by the other dancers. The dancers are a wonderful Colombian dance troupe who bring a mix of classical and modern elements to the piece. I hope you enjoy.”

Patrick has been busy on various projects since the critically acclaimed release of his fifth album, Love Songs for Robots. 2017’s ‘Broken’ was featured in many TV series including Grey’s Anatomy, The Good Doctor and Burden of Truth. He was part of the cast as a performer for the circus show Rêveurs définitifs, embarked on the Canadian C3 boat for a 2 week run to raise awareness on Diversity and Inclusion, Reconciliation, Youth Engagement and the Environment, performed the Bell Center for Tower of Songs, a tribute concert to Leonard Cohen in Montreal with Sting, Lana Del Rey, Elvis Costello and more. Patrick and his band are currently recording the next album.

DENA 'IF IT'S WRITTEN' OUT 14TH SEPTEMBER 2018 (DOMINO PUBLISHING)

Dena 'If It's Written'

Dena has announced her sophmore album 'If It's Written' released via Mansions and Millions on the 14th September 2018. To mark the announcement, Dena has shared the first single from the record, 'So Wrong' features fellow Domino Publishing writer Sean Nicholas Savage. Listen above.

"If it’s written in the stars", says a Bulgarian proverb. In a time shaped by uncertainty and disintegrating securities, trusting in the stars doesn’t seem too far fetched. "Last year, every conversation I had ended with this sentence", Dena explains, "before I had the album, I alreadyhad the title. It’s about believing and trusting in universal connections, trusting that everything will fall into place, eventually."

Four years after her début Flash, If It’s Written marks a new chapter in Dena’s musical and personal development. The product of major transformations in her life and work, If It’s Written is the work of a grown-up woman who has taken matters into her own hands. The record is a celebration of individuality and independence, for the first time Dena has taken over producing the majority of the tracks herself. "For me, this is major progress", she says, "from writing the first song for this album to this point, it’s been such a journey." It took two different versions and four mixes, but now that circle came to a closing and If It’s Written is ready to be released unto the world.

PRAM 'ACROSS THE MERIDIAN' OUT 20TH JULY 2018 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
Pram 'Across The Meridian'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Domino is pleased to mark the return of Pram.  Across The Meridian, released on Friday the 20th of July, is a celebration of Pram’s unique vision, focused into a beautifully constructed and tautly produced soundworld.  Across The Meridian is their first album since 2007’s The Moving Frontier

As with their previous albums, Across the Meridian mixes instrumentals and songs, weaving a gleeful path through the musical territory of film scores, 30s jazz, sun-drenched pop, electronica, and post-punk experimentation. Haunting and wistful vocals are set to a variety of soundscapes, sometimes appearing as a snatched fragment of the subconscious and dreamlike, at others crafting a story of longing or regret, drawing the listener into Pram’s uncanny world through the mirror. Newcomers to Pram will find a richly detailed collage of influences ranging from exotica, Krautrock and the forgotten film soundtracks that went on to inspire contemporaries Stereolab & Broadcast.

The band convened at the remote Foel studios in Wales to improvise on ideas and record some bases for tracks, before finishing them in their studio in Birmingham. Pram have a working process that has developed over many years and reflects shifts in band personnel and technological advancements. Across The Meridian is a testament to the band embracing these new approaches without losing any of their original allure.

The band line up now consists of Matt Eaton, Sam Owen, Max Simpson and Harry Dawes.
