Iglooghost is Seamus Malliagh, an electronic music producer and visual artist based in Margate, UK. He tells the stories of various creatures (tiny gods, witches, worms and eyeballs) in an imaginary eco-system called Mamu through intense, dizzying, maximalist electronic dance music. Collaborating with fellow Domino Publishing writer BABii and 3D animator Christopher Casey Denton, the Clear Tamei music video is the first introduction to his fantastical world. Watch above.

Iglooghost signed to Brainfeeder as a teenager releasing his first EP ‘Chinese Nu Year’ which was followed by the inventive and colourful debut LP ‘Neo Wax Bloom’. After a string of single releases, remixes for ABRA and Slugabed, mixes for Boiler room, Rinse FM and Radio 1 Diplo and Friends he released the double EP ‘Steel Mogu’/‘Clear Tamei’ (dark, bass heavy, hyperspeed / brighter, more melodic, classic instrumentation)

He has composed the score for the animated Adult Swim short ‘The Jungle’ aired in 2017. Created 'Grid' alongside BABii and Kai Whiston, 'Grid' is an interactive night of DJ sets centred around a machine that unlocks new and exclusive visuals/tracks through the use of hidden tokens. In addition, he has formed the GLOO collective (Iglooghost, BABii, Kai Whiston) who graced the front cover of Loud and Quiet and will be releasing their album 'XYZ' on the 18th September 2019. Over 9 tracks 'XYZ' mixes the individual members tastes, practices and styles explored in their respective solo material. Joining forces they have created a vibrant and unpredictable record of left field electronic music with nods to experimental club, dance and pop.

L.A. Salami ‘L.A. Salami's Walkabout EP’
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

L.A. Salami pushes his elegantly haunted poetry to the foreground with his new EP ‘L.A. Salami’s Walkbout’, which will be released on September 27th via Sunday Best. The release has been launched with its lead track ‘Tinder’. Set to a bluesy backing loop, the track ruminates on the nature of Tinder and the wider world of dating apps. Listen above.

His evocative, poetic lyrics span everything from grand existential questions to vignettes of everyday life as well as the affairs and anxieties of modern Britain. Set in “some nameless generic megacity”, the seven-track EP focuses on the experiences of Papalious Stokely. Equipped with little more than a pocket-sized bottle of brandy for company and comfort, Papalious Stokely explores the dirty extremes of this tired metropolis: a sprawling sea of cheap hookers, cocaine habits, whisky bottles, knife violence, jacked up hack ideologies, street gangs and inspirational hooligans.

Echoing the distant spirit of Jack Kerouac reciting conscious poetry to the rhythm and colour of the jazz bands of the era, this is a walk through L.A. Salami’s own subconscious stream with Butcher Pete (better known as Petter Grevelious from Francobollo) providing the beats. Papa Stokely wrote half of the EP, while his disconcerting doppelganger L.A. Salami crafted the rest.

Lava La Rue takes to the streets of West London with new single 'TLSL'. The track is the cut from her upcoming mixtape EP 'Stitches' released on the 18th September. The video for 'TLSL' was shot and edited by Lava and close friend Daniela Montiero over the course of two days. Watch above.

Lava on TLSL:

“All the locations you see in the video are significant spots to me growing up around London. I literally just told my girl Dani that imma invite our friends to chill for the weekend and she just captured what we were up to, because she’s part of our circle it was like a perfect fly on the wall perspective."

"I mean, a lot of the people in the video didn’t even know we were making a music video till after its that candid…overall I feel like the whole song and video simply reflects on what I’ve been up to this summer between all the hustles/shows and my feelings to just keep going with a positive mindset despite any losses…hence the title: Take an L, Smoke an L (TLSL)..."

BLUE HAWAII 'OPEN REDUCTION INTERNAL FIXATION' OUT 11TH OCTOBER 2019 (DOMINO PUBLISHING)

Blue Hawaii 'Open Reduction Internal Fixation'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Blue Hawaii return with their fourth studio album 'Open Reduction Internal Fixation' out 11th October via Arbutus Records, to mark the announcement they have released the track 'All That Blue', watch above.

Spanning genres as diverse as trance, acoustic, UK garage, trip-hop and house, its core elements are lighthearted and groovy. But oddly, “Open Reduction Internal Fixation” was born out of unfortunate circumstance. The duo were scheduled to tour through Southeast Asia & Japan in Autumn ’18 but plans changed suddenly when Agor smashed up his heel in Germany. Instead of the tour, he came back to Montreal for treatment - hence the title - “Open Reduction Internal Fixation”, the foot surgery he received.

Ra was going through her own challenges at this time, being on the heel end of a messy breakup - the kind where you almost get married and spend your life together only to find everything torched to ashes. Much like the surgery, that emotional rollercoaster also left her feeling torn open and fixated. The remedy: hit the club and make a record that makes you scream in joy at the speakers. Agor and Ra connected during their recovery periods, and through their different pains the tunes came together naturally, a healing through fun and friendship. Tied together with signature diva vocals, dreamy tones and liquid beats, “Open Reduction Internal Fixation” is the living proof of turning a bummer situation into a golden opportunity.

Blue Hawaii is a two person electronic project consisting of Ra and Ag, who met doing parties and shows in Montreal and continue to create together despite living in separate cities - split between Montreal and Berlin. “Open Reduction Internal Fixation” is their fourth LP and continues the thread of dreamy electronic pop and dance floor playability.

LOWER DENS 'GALAPAGOS' OUT 20TH AUGUST 2019 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO PUBLISHING
Lower Dens 'Galapagos'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Four years since their critically acclaimed album, Escape From Evil, Lower Dens recently announced their newest creation -- The Competition -- which will be released on Ribbon Music on September 6th.  Lower Dens share a third taste of the album in the form of a glistening, synth-pop careen called “Galapagos.” Listen above.

Lower Dens also recently announced they will be hitting the road upon the album’s release supporting Of Monsters And Men in addition to three very special release shows in Los Angeles and Baltimore respectively.  All dates are below.

The Competition is a pop album with a concept both emotionally and politically urgent. By design, competition is the driving force of modern capitalism, and the title is lead singer and songwriter Jana Hunter’s (pronouns: they/them, him/his) term for a socio-psychological phenomenon this generates, a kind of psychosis that accelerates our insecurities and anxieties to the point of total overload, corroding our intimacies, our communities, and our senses of self.

Hunter says, “The issues that have shaped my life, for better or for worse, have to do with coming from a family and a culture that totally bought into this competitive mindset.  I was wild and in a lot of pain as a kid; home life was very bleak, and pop songs were a guaranteed escape to a mental space where beauty, wonder, and love were possible.  I wanted to write songs that might have the potential to do that.”

Indeed, The Competition might be Hunter’s most vulnerable, hook-filled album yet, a leftfield, resistance pop record that could only be released in 2019.

MICHAELA ANNE 'DESERT DOVE' OUT 27TH SEPTEMBER 2019 (DOMINO PUBLISHING/YEP ROC)

DOMINO PUBLISHING
Michaela Anne 'Desert Dove'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Michaela Anne is proud to debut 'By Our Design', the single is the newest from her upcoming album Desert Dove, out September 27th on Yep Roc Records. Watch the video above.

Recorded over the course of several weeks in San Clemente, California, Desert Dove was completed “on location” with the help of an all-star cast. Producers Sam Outlaw and Delta Spirit’s Kelly Winrich assembled guitarist Brian Whelan (Dwight Yoakam, Jim Lauderdale), fiddler Kristin Weber (Kacey Musgraves, Margo Price), and drummers Mark Stepro (Ben Kweller, Butch Walker) and Daniel Bailey (Everest, Father John Misty) to address this batch of songs with a fresh take, not leaning too hard on traditional arrangements or instrumentation. “Child of the Wind” is a great example of this; using a chunky, fuzzy electric guitar in place of what could have been a pedal steel or fiddle intro, adding sonic and tonal variables to the breadth of Michaela Anne’s range of characters and motifs.

Amidst the ups and downs of Desert Dove, there is a recurring focus on the emotions that fall in between peaks and valleys. “This record, for me, highlights the gray area, the nuance of emotional life and relationships that seems to be harder to convey in today’s modes of communication and limited attention spans: short excerpts on Instagram or Twitter paragraphs,” says Michaela Anne. “Nothing is black and white, solely good or bad. Who we are, how we live, how we love, what we desire or reject, it’s all full of contradictions and confusions. I wanted to explore that through my songs with care, depth, reality as well as light-heartedness, fun and fantasy.”

Michaela Anne also attacks most of the album with a sharp feminine perspective, dealing out wisdom, confidence, and sass with authority and maturity that is never tiresome. The easiest example of this is Michaela Anne’s light-hearted rebuttal to condescension and “mansplaining” with “If I Wanted Your Opinion,” but her stance drives deeper with each new song, all the way through the end of Desert Dove. “When I got to Nashville, I was told the ‘rules’ of songwriting,” Michaela recounts. “I was informed that a woman in a country song can never be the victim, but she can also never be the perpetrator. That’s not real life. As a woman, sometimes you’re everything all at once, and I wanted to write about those real experiences.”

JACK KLATT 'IT AIN'T THE SAME' OUT 27TH SEPTEMBER 2019 (DOMINO PUBLISHING/YEP ROC)

Jack Klatt 'It Ain't The Same'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Jack Klatt has announced the release of his eagerly awaited new album. IT AIN'T THE SAME arrives everywhere via Yep Roc Records on Friday, September 27. It Ain't the Same is preceded by the premiere of a raucous new single "Prove My Love"; the track is joined by an equally rockin' companion video, co-starring Minneapolis-based artist Alberta Mirais, watch above.

"'Prove My Love' is a pure and simple rock n' roll song about the push and pull of romance," says Klatt. "What beer way to visually capture the joy and chaos of love then two people dancing together? We shot the video on the night of the summer solstice at a fabrication shop that I work at in North East Minneapolis
when I'm not on the road. It was a hot night and many beverages were consumed while me and Alberta Mirais danced the night into day. I couldn't dream of doing something like this with anyone but her. She is most assuredly the star of the show."

Hailed by Rift Magazine for "great songs with witty lyrics" and "one helluva guitarist to boot," Klatt will herald IT AIN'T THE SAME with an array of upcoming live dates, beginning with an August run alongside Parker Millsap and then followed in September by a series of dates supporting Pokey LaFarge.

O'Flynn 'Alethia'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

London based producer and DJ O’Flynn has announced his debut album ‘Aletheia’, to be released 6th September 2019 on Silver Bear Recordings, and shared the second single ‘Painted Wolf’, out 21st June 2019. Listen to Painted Wolf above.

His latest release follows a series of acclaimedproductions which explored his wide-ranging style:from squelchy acid on Ninja Tune to loose and luscious jazz on Blip Discs, as well as the high-octane 12” released on his own Hundred Flowers imprint earlier this year. With his new single O’Flynn honesin on the expansive electronica style found on his previous 12” single, ‘Sunspear’. Continuing his recontextualisation of evocative world music samples combinedwith layers of percussion, O’Flynn builds a fluid but powerful energy on heady club cut ‘Painted Wolf’. Painted Wolf has been 4 years in the making. The longest I've ever taken to finish an idea. It was probably my follow up to Desmond’s Empire in terms of style. This is my attempt to deliver something new to the world."

With standout 12” debuts ‘Tyrion’ and ‘Desmond’s Empire’ in 2015, O’Flynn quickly established his reputation as “one of dance music’s most prosperous newcomers”, as put by Boiler Room. Having gained support from Four Tet, Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, Denis Sulta, James Blake and Hessle Audio and his debut album forthcoming, he continues his musical evolution to become a resonant force within dance music.

ONE TRUE PAIRING 'ONE TRUE PAIRING' OUT 20TH SEPTEMBER 2019 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
One True Pairing 'One True Pairing'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Tom Fleming will release his debut solo album under the guise One True Pairing. The former Wild Beasts songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist shared the first taste of his new direction earlier this month with “One True Pairing”, the titular track of the upcoming record. Watch the music video above.

Today, Fleming is pleased to share the second song from the self-titled album, “I’m Not Afraid”. With its refrain - “We’ve been kicked our whole lives and I’m not afraid, But I won’t go back down to that place again” - Tom sets his intention for One True Pairing.

“I wanted to write about the real world, I didn't want it to be an artistic, poised, tasteful record, it’s neo-heartland rock" says Tom Fleming. "One True Pairing is a name taken from internet fan fiction, where you write the perfect relationship you always wished existed. The idea of Prince Charming and Helpless Princess living happily after is no fun at all.”

Tom’s musical touchstones were Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Tom Petty alongside Depeche Mode and Swans. He wrote and played everything himself and then brought in Ben Hillier (Nadine Shah, Graham Coxon) on mixing and production duties.

One True Pairing is an album shaped by class frustration and self-despair and there is a continuation of the exploration of masculinity that made Wild Beasts so unique. As well as being deeply personal, OTP has a wider political resonance. "This country is going through a terrible moment and if you listen to the art nobody seems to give a shit,” Fleming says emphatically. He believes that class is entirely discounted from the current conversation about inclusivity and privilege. In its 11 songs of discordant guitar and aggressive synth Fleming channels his discontent with Britain in 2019 and a “feeling of directionless rage and cheatedness which hasn't gone away."
