Following the acclaim of their debut album Still Life, south London trio Little Cub have shared the video for stand-out track, ‘Breathing Space’. Watch above.

“’Breathing Space’ is a song about the negative spaces in a relationship and people and things that come in to fill those gaps. Don Paterson once said it's easier to traverse the distance of space than to bridge the distance between one person's mind and yours and here the central question is one of fidelity. That if someone keeps you at arms length for long enough at what point does so much come between you that the ties simply come undone.”

FLASHER 'CONSTANT IMAGE' OUT 8TH JUNE 2018 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
Flasher 'Constant Image'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Washington, DC trio Flasher announce their debut album, Constant Image, which will be released June 8th via Domino. They've also shared a new single and video, ‘Pressure’. Watch above.

Recorded in 2017 at Rare Book Room in Brooklyn, NY, Constant Image was produced by Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deerhunter, War On Drugs) and crackles with invention. This isn’t the sound of a band finding their feet, it’s the rare sound of three people – Taylor Mulitz on guitar, bassist Daniel Saperstein and drummer Emma Baker - who know exactly what they want to achieve from the start.

From their hometown of Washington, DC, with its rich history of idiosyncratic underground music, Flasher has emerged at the forefront of a vibrant musical present. The Sister Polygon label (which Mulitz helps run with former bandmates Priests) is a vital element in this moment of local cultivation and political confrontation. With their new LP, Flasher is helping to define a new generation of music in the city set apart from Dischord or any other storied DC past.

Says the band on ‘Pressure’ and its’ video:

“’Pressure’ is a song that treads the line between queer delight and delirium, and crushing isolation and survival. The video for ‘Pressure’, made in collaboration with Weird Life films and featuring designer and Chicago based artist An Authentic Skidmark, is a compliment to the paradox of the song itself and an invitation to that world in between.”

Oly Ralfe embarks on a new solo journey. Notes From Another Sea, Ralfe's debut solo instrumental piano album will be released via Ghost Ship Records on the 13th April 2018. Watch 'On My Train' above.

Oxford-based Oly Ralfe, who has made albums as Ralfe Band since 2005, as an ode of his love of the instrument, Notes From Another Sea is Oly’s first album based entirely around the piano. The album was recorded on several different pianos, recording on a Yamaha upright at Strawhouse Studios in Oxford, an old Steinweg grand at Visconti Studio in London, and in his home studio a Eavestaff mini piano.

Ralfe on 'Notes From Another Sea':

“A lot of the music I love is stripped back to just one or two instruments. I’ve always wanted to create an album with more space, with an intimate atmosphere. At first it felt a risky undertaking, but I was surprised by how natural the process became. It’s been great to form a clear simple voice through the power of a composition, the moment of the performance and the atmosphere captured in recording it.”

Oly is known for being the principal member and songwriter of Ralfe Band, releasing three studio albums, Swords (Skint), Attic Thieves (Loose), and Son Be Wise (Highline). He also composed the score to the feature film Bunny and the Bull (Warp Films / Film 4), directed by Paul King (Paddington), which was released as a soundtrack album.
