Lola Kirke shares the latest single from her forthcoming debut album 'Heart Head West' Out 10th August via Downtown Records. 'Supposed To' is accompanied by a self-directed video, watch above.

Lola Kirke on 'Supposed To': The song 'Supposed To' is really about the intense pressure I feel to be what other people think I should be and what I think I should be. How rebellious would you feel if you had spent your life just doing things that you felt that you were supposed to do? That society told you to do?"

Andy Jenkins 'Sweet Bunch'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Andy Jenkins shares the making of his latest album 'Sweet Bunch' out 15th June 2018 via Spacebomb. Watch the Departure Point Films directed film above.

Sweet Bunch springs into the world fully-formed, the work of a confident, timeless as well as contemporary singer-songwriter, offering beautiful and basic melodies with lyrics exploring the fluidity between the banal and the sublime. His work feels natural, complete within itself, untrained musically but adherent to its own forms and intricate in its own ways. Spring peepers line the path; the author feeds her peacocks strutting among vines and ruins; a photographer waits for the right light and color in frame. Each song presents a rich, new tableau of sound, glowing worlds to discover, rooted in an unnamed sense of place.

LOW 'DOUBLE NEGATIVE' OUT 14TH SEPTEMBER 2018 (DOMINO PUBLISHING)

Low 'Double Negative'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

On September 14th, Low will release 'Double Negative', the most brazen, abrasive (and, paradoxically, most empowering) album in their 25 year long career. As a prelude to the full-length album, Low presents a triptych video for the opening songs of the album. Watch “Quorum” “Dancing and Blood” and “Fly” above.

To make Double Negative, Low reenlisted B.J. Burton, the adventurous producer who in recent years has made records with Bon Iver, Lizzo, and Francis and the Lights. Returning once again to Justin Vernon's April Base studio in Eau Claire, Wisconsin (where they recorded 2015’s Ones and Sixes) Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker, and bassist Steve Garrington knew they wanted to go further with Burton and his palette of sounds: they wanted to see what someone who is, as Sparhawk puts it, “a hip-hop guy” could truly do with their music. Rather than obsessively write and rehearse at home in Duluth, Minnesota, they would often head southeast to Eau Claire, arriving with sketches and ideas that they would work on for days with Burton. Band and producer became collaborative co-writers, building the pieces up and breaking them down until their purpose and force felt clear. The album cover for Double Negative was created by longtime collaborator, English artist, Peter Liversidge.

“Quorum” Directed & edited by Ben Chisholm, Filmed by Karlos Rene Ayala.

“Dancing and Blood” Directed, filmed & edited by Karlos Rene Ayala

“Fly” Directed by Mark Pellington Edited by Jen Kennedy

WATCHING MELODY'S ECHO CHAMBER 'CROSS MY HEART' (DOMINO ALL-IN)

Melody's Echo Chamber 'Cross My Heart'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

To celebrate the release of Bon Voyage, MEC aka Melody Prochet is pleased to share the video for ‘Cross My Heart’, the final instalment in a fairytale trilogy directed by Daniel Foothead. Watch above.

Album opener ‘Cross My Heart’ is stylistically the most recognisable track on the new record, at least until an old skool hip hop breakdown midway through seems to bifurcate the old Melody from the new Melody. From then on in it’s an odyssey of aural iridescence where anything can happen and it usually does. Watch the previous videos for ‘Breathe In, Breathe Out’ and ‘Desert Horse’

Bon Voyage is a collaborative record between Prochet and Dungen’s Reine Fiske and The Amazing’s Fredrik Swahn with Melody sculpting and producing the sessions as well as encouraging the players around her to experiment, often with instruments that might be less familiar to them. It also features special guests Gustav Esjtes and Johan Holmegaard (both from Dungen) and Nicholas Allbrook (Pond).

VILLAGERS 'THE ART OF PRETENDING TO SWIM' OUT 21ST SEPTEMBER 2018 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

Villagers 'The Art Of Pretending To Swim'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Conor O’Brien announces the release of Villagers’ fourth studio album, The Art Of Pretending To Swim, released by Domino on Friday 21st September. Watch the video for 'A Trick Of Light' above.

Following the exquisitely sparse, intimate aura of 2015’s Darling Arithmetic, O’Brien’s new record reconnects with the multi-faceted approach of Villagers’ 2010 album debut Becoming A Jackal and 2013’s {Awayland} while adding a new-found soulfulness, rhythmic nous and dazzling panoply of sonic detail, both analogue and digital, creating feverish moods while writing effortlessly accessible tunes. Balanced with subtle aspects and lyrical themes that embrace existential fears and hopes in this desperate, technologically-centred dystopian age, The Art Of Pretending To Swim is the most brilliantly realised Villagers album to date. The album was written, produced, mixed and primarily performed by Conor O’Brien in his Dublin studio.

The video for ‘A Trick of the Light’, the first single from the album, was directed by Bob Gallagher. Conor says of the collaboration:

Myself and Bob got together and discussed the song thematically and came to the conclusion that there was no other option but to make a short film in which we follow a dishevelled shamanistic protagonist who mysteriously triggers an altered state of consciousness in everyone he meets, or at least believes that he does. We also wanted lots of dancing and to inspire a general feeling of "what the hell did I just watch?" in the viewer.

O’Brien has a string of accolades under his belt including two Ivor Novello Awards (the most recent being 2016’s Album Award for Darling Arithmetic), two Mercury Music Prize nominations and is also a previous winner of Ireland’s Choice Music Prize. Additionally, Villagers’ music recently featured in the high profile HBO drama ‘Big Little Lies’, Conor has collaborated with the composer Nico Muhly (that track featuring in the forthcoming Paulo Sorrentino Berlusconi biopic ‘Loro 2’) and Villagers’ Spotify session of ‘Nothing Arrived’ has hit over 100 million streams.

IVOR NOVELLO AWARD (2016) and (2011)
