Microshift is the third album from Hookworms, due for release on February 2nd 2018 via Domino. With the announcement of Microshift, the band share new track, ‘Negative Space’ along with new music, Hookworms will return to the live circuit with dates in both 2017 and in 2018. Watch above.

Microshift is the Leeds band's first new work in over 3 years and marks a seismic shift in their sound, dynamic, songwriting and production, whilst still bearing all the ferocious energy, intricate musicianship and bruised but beautiful song-craft of the previous releases which have quietly made them one of the UK's most revered young bands.

The album is formed out of loops, modular synthesizer sequences, drum machines, homemade samples etc. which were jammed around and layered until the songs began to emerge. The band have also opened their writing to include collaborations with artists such as Richard Formby (on Opener), Christopher Duffin (on Boxing Day) and Alice Merida Richards (on Each Time We Pass).

WATCHING THESE NEW PURITANS 'WHERE THE TREES ARE ON FIRE' (DOMINO PUBLISHING)

These New Puritans today unveil the video to their new song ‘Where The Trees Are On Fire’, lifted from their already acclaimed forthcoming album Inside The Rose, which is set for release next Friday, 22 March. The song is the haunting centrepiece of their forthcoming album, and the video is directed by band member George Barnett and Max Luz.

It’s an enigmatic portrait of Jack Barnett by his brother. Halfway through, the viewer transcends the stark painterly reality and is thrown into a world of ecstatic, saturated colour.

Jack dreamt the melody and lyrics. “Clichéd as it may seem, that’s how it came to me. I went through a period of dreaming loads of music. Most of it was crap – bad ‘80s synth pop or pub rock – but this was the best of them. Because I dreamt most of the lyrics, I don’t know exactly what it’s about, but I think it’s got something to do with the extremes of life, whether that’s oblivion or ecstasy.”

‘Where The Trees Are On Fire’ follows current single ‘Anti–Gravity’, as well as the album’s title track and ‘Into The Fire’, which debuted late last year to immense acclaim. The album arrives six years after the critically acclaimed album Field of Reeds, and is arguably the Barnett brothers' most innovative work to date.

NIGHT MOVES 'CAN YOU REALLY FIND ME' OUT 28TH JUNE 2019 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

Night Moves 'Can You Really Find Me'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Domino announces Can You Really Find Me, the new album from Night Moves, due for release on June 28th. Accompanying the news of the album comes new track “Strands Align” and its’ Cameron Dutra-directed video, starring John Pelant and Micky Alfano from the band as well as actor Chris Mulkey (Twin Peaks, Whiplash, Boardwalk Empire). Watch above.

Night Moves new album, Can You Really Find Me, pulsates and glows with the same sublime energy that radiated from breakout single “Carl Sagan” in 2016, however in the intervening years, John Pelant and Micky Alfano have grown up. The songwriting, while still steeped in super-catchy, velvety riffs and pure pop glaze, feels more sophisticated and modern. Since the pair met in high school, awestruck by such ear-candy wizards as Brian Wilson, Todd Rundgren, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham, they set off to craft their version of what sophisticated, emotional modern pop music can and should sound like. 2016’s Pennied Days was a breakthrough, and set a new bar for the members of Night Moves. After spending the subsequent two years on Can You Really Find Me, they’ve scaled new heights, where the sounds are still just as sweet, but now smarter, more evocative, and perfectly designed for a summer release.

Can You Really Find Me was produced by Jim Eno (founding member and drummer of Spoon) out of Public Hi-Fi Studios in Austin, TX and recorded with live band members Mark Hanson and Chuck Murlowski

PETER PERRETT 'HUMANWORLD' OUT 7TH JUNE 2019 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
Peter Perrett 'Humanworld'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Peter Perrett returns once again with Humanworld, out on the 7th June via Domino. Watch the music video for the album’s opening track, ‘I Want Your Dreams’, above.

One of the recent past’s most unexpected come-back stories, Peter Perrett – former frontman of The Only Ones - resurfaced in 2017 with How The West Was Won, an album that saw him chart in the UK, star on BBC Newsnight, sell out rooms at Electric Ballroom and Islington Assembly Hall, and collect accolades across the board.

In this new chapter, Peter continues to dissect romance and politics with his trademark sense of sardonic wit and wry humour, if not with more vigour even and a palpable sense of immediacy. Peter adds, “This record has got more urgency and the songs are more concise. Don’t like words such as progression but I hope this is texturally and sonically more interesting than How The West Was Won.”

Peter’s band includes his guitar and bass playing sons Jamie and Peter Jr, drummer Jake Woodward, Jenny Maxwell (Microkorg synthesiser, viola, BVs) and Lauren Moon (keys, drums, BVs) - a tight-knit bunch who have honed this album and the previous one with choice live performances here and in Europe.

Following the years of possibly having too much fun, Peter Perrett is in the process of rebuilding himself, his family, and his art. Working with his sons and fronting another great band, he’s firmly back on track. Humanworld features a production credit for Peter’s son Jamie who also contributes a song to the album (‘Master of Destruction’); and the story of knitting a family back together following a history of chaos and addiction now takes a step closer to centre stage.

NEW SIGNING: ARLO DAY 'BAD TIMING' OUT 31ST MAY 2019 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN

Arlo Day is the moniker of Alice Barlow, a young songwriter and guitarist from South-East London whose unique ear for melody, haunting vocals and rumbling guitar tones have gained a quiet reputation as one of the capital’s best kept secrets. Newly-signed to iconic indie label Domino, Arlo Day has today revealed her debut single ‘Bad Timing’ and its emotive video. ‘Bad Timing’ is the lead single and title track taken from her first EP out 31st May.

The video for ‘Bad Timing’ came together during the cold winter months of 2018 with Barlow collaborating alongside friends Holly Taylor, Elena Isolini and Esther Collins. The visuals were shot in the friends’ houses and all around South London. Barlow adds: ‘Like the song, the video is based around the disparity of time and hindsight, and how moments of the past can replay in your mind. We were inspired by photographs by Duane Michals and Katrien de Blauwer, and Lynne Ramsay’s short film Gasman.’

Self-produced and recorded at home, the Bad Timing EP is a trio of tracks that showcase her deft ability to write songs that are at once personal vignettes and brooding canvases for introspection and introduces Arlo Day as a singular and exciting new songwriting talent.

HOT CHIP 'A BATH FULL OF ECSTASY' OUT 21ST JUNE 2019 (DOMINO RECORDINGS)

DOMINO RECORDINGS
Hot Chip 'A Bath Full of Ecstasy'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Hot Chip will release their electrifying seventh album, A Bath Full of Ecstasy, on June 21st. Their third album for Domino, A Bath Full of Ecstasy is the group’s definitive release, crystallising the sound they’ve become celebrated for – bridging euphoria and melancholy with colourful melodies, idiosyncratic vocalisations and pounding electronic pop rhythms. Watch the Saman Kesh directed music video above.

Recorded in Paris and London, the album sees the group (Owen Clarke, Al Doyle Joe Goddard, Felix Martin and Alexis Taylor) open up to a more adventurous and collaborative song-writing process, choosing to work with outside producers for the first time: Philippe Zdar, the French maestro who’s shaped the magic of Cassius and Phoenix, and Rodaidh McDonald, the Scot who’s collaborated with The XX, David Byrne and Sampha, among others.

Today, the band share the first song from the record, ‘Hungry Child’; for 6 glorious minutes, Hot Chip fuse the uplifting soft pads and melodic keys of classic soulful house and the percussive swing of UK garage, full of sweet vocalisations and rhythmic snaps, to make an instant, club-ready hit. The video for ‘Hungry Child’ is directed by Saman Kesh and features Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub.

HAYDEN THORPE 'DIVINER' THE DEBUT SOLO ALBUM OUT 24TH MAY 2019 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
Hayden Thorpe 'Diviner'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

It is with great pleasure that Domino announce Diviner, the debut solo album from Hayden Thorpe, due for release on 24th May 2019. Along with the news of Diviner, Hayden Thorpe shares the new track, “Love Crimes” plus a video, directed by Alexandra Liveris. Watch above.

Diviner is a deeply emotional album: lyrically generous in its candid tone and self-awareness, the melodies resonant with sense memory. The album feels like a startling departure from Thorpe’s previous work with Wild Beasts and also unlike anything else being made at the moment.

Written in a deep period of flux; at points in California, Cornwall and at his home in London - the latter acting as a womb-like space where he worked out his new life, story and belief systems. “My adulthood was based on a certain belief system, a band, a family. When it shifted entirely, I had a ghost I had to find a new haunt for,” Thorpe notes. But his belief in songs as transformative entities kept him going. “I believe in the medicinal properties of songs. I believe in their healing properties,” he says. “Songs defy time, they don’t erode or denature, they come with you and reform anew in your mind as and when you need them.”

“I broke up with myself. So this is a break-up album, but not about a relationship. It’s a break-up from a past self, it’s a breakup from the old idea of yourself and therefore every relationship, of all kinds, that you’ve ever had.” Throughout the record, Thorpe’s voice is a beacon - paired with weaving piano, ambient guitar drifts and propulsive bass lines - his sound is even more powerfully unfettered than before, as if he’d found a new inner voice, a new way to use his instrument.
