'Touch The Leather'

Taken from a new collaborative EP with the Fat White Family and Peake’s Eccentronic Research Council project, the new Moonlandingz video, featuring the Bafta–nominated Maxine Peake as a crazed stalker of a fictional band. Watch above.

Sweet Saturn Mine is the lead track taken from the Moonlandingz’ EP out on 16 March – a collaboration between the Fat Whites and Eccentronic Research Council. Written from the perspective of a fan of a small-time local band – the infatuation with the group tips into obsession, before plummeting dramatically into something far more sinister.

DRILL FESTIVAL IN BRIGHTON FEATURING THESE NEW PURITANS, GOLD PANDA, THE WYTCHES AND ADRIAN CROWLEY: 4TH - 7TH DECEMBER 2014

COOL STUFF
'Fields Of Reeds'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

The concepts behind DRILL : FESTIVAL are simple: to challenge preconceptions of Wire. To show-case their impact on and relationship with groups and artists from younger generations, to connect with both new and established artists whose work they find inspiring and feel that they have a kinship with. This then opens up opportunities for one-off collaborations – DRILL : BRIGHTON for example will see Wire team up with rock titans SWANS to perform an extended version of the always-mutating Wire track ‘Drill’, as well as the return of the historic 'Pinkflag Guitar Orchestra', which sees
Wire joined onstage by members of bands who are involved over the course of the festival, along with local friends, allies and past collaborators, the guitarists then play an extended, improvised version of Wire's ‘Pink Flag’ at high volume.

SEE THE FULL LINE-UP HERE

Domino Publishing artists playing include THESE NEW PURITANS, GOLD PANDA, THE WYTCHES and ADRIAN CROWLEY.

For DRILL : BRIGHTON Wire and One Inch Badge are delivering the most ambitious and realised DRILL : FESTIVAL yet, with upwards of 100 bands, artists, films, talks and exhibitions, across 14 different venues, across 4 days from the 4th to 7th December 2014.

DOMINO: RECORD STORE DAY 19TH APRIL 2014

COOL STUFF

A range of special edition releases listed below will be sold exclusively through independent outlets around the country.

Julia Holter – ‘Don't Make Me Over’ by Dionne Warwick and ‘Hello Stranger’ 7”

Julia Holter's 7" single features a brand new, full band studio recording of her version of ‘Don't Make Me Over’, a song originally performed by Dionne Warwick and written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. The AA-side is ‘Hello Stranger’, another cover (this time of Barbara Lewis) and one of the highlights of last year's much-lauded Loud City Song album. The single's beautiful artwork was designed by long-time Holter collaborator Rick Bahto.

Hamilton Leithauser – ‘Alexandra’ and ‘In The Shallows’ B-side 7”

Having announced his debut solo album Black Hours via Ribbon Music (Domino) on May 5th, Hamilton Leithauser is marking a new chapter in his career, beginning by releasing a special double-sided 7” for Record Store Day.

‘Alexandra’’, the first track to be taken from Black Hours , will be available on 7” vinyl. The B-side will be ‘In The Shallows’, a brand new track recorded during Hamilton’s album sessions. Guests across the two tracks include Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend), Morgan Henderson (Fleet Foxes), Paul Maroon (The Walkmen), Richard Swift (The Shins/solo) and Hugh McIntosh from Leithauser’s first band, The Recoys.

Steve Mason – The Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye Remixes 12”

Monkey Minds In the Devil’s Time is an album that has been shaped by the current global political climate and the lack of dissenting voices in music and popular culture in general.  The righteous, undaunted anger at the heart of the album has helped to create Mason’s best record to date. Now Steve Mason is releasing a special two-track 12” featuring remixes of ‘Seen It All Before’ and ‘Come to Me’ which both feature on last year’s Monkey Minds In the Devil’s Time. Remixes are courtesy of Greg Wilson and Derek Kaye.

Villagers – Occupy Your Mind 7”

Having won Ireland’s prestigious Meteor Choice Music Prize for their album {Awayland} last month, Villagers are set to release their new; James-Ford produced single ‘Occupy Your Mind’ on limited edition clear vinyl on Record Store Day. The 7” release will be backed by new track ‘Beatitudes’ exclusively for the occasion.

DOMINO KINDLY SEEK DONATIONS IN SUPPORT OF MIND & SHELTER FROM THE STORM [CLICK HERE TO DONATE]

SHELTER FROM THE STORM provide hot meals and a warm bed to homeless people in London.

INCREDIBLY Shelter from the Storm is London's ONLY free homeless shelter, open all year round and receive no help from the government. Totally independent, they are not affiliated with any other organisation and they depend on volunteers from the community. To survive they rely on generous donations so anything you give is used purely to keep offering our services to those who need them.

Sheila Scott (founder), started with one bed on one night in some church crypt in Islington and now provides shelter to 36 people every single night of the year (not in the church). The place is staffed entirely by volunteers with very low running costs meaning  that any money raised has the potential to reach the people it should. Along with providing shelter to many they give their users access to doctors and counsellors as well as helping  people back to work,  or back  to their homes. They do good work with much grace and donations of all sizes will see them continue doing just that.

Domino is running the Royal Parks half marathon on October 6th in order to raise money for two charities; Shelter from the Storm – London’s only FREE homeless shelter, and MIND the mental health charity.

We truly hope that you’ll consider sponsoring us.

You can find out more about both charities at our Virgin money giving page.

Frankie & The Heartstrings 'Hunger' (Domino Publishing)

Many of you often comment on confusing us with a pizza delivery establishment (actually no one does) - how about confusing one pizza delivery establishment with another pizza delivery establishment and then emailing us to complain about how hard our crust is. This email is too good to keep to ourselves. Have a  little chuckle on us. Incidentally we do have an interest in the commercial currently running for a well known pizza delivery establishment.

RECORD STORE DAY - 20TH APRIL 2013 - AUSTRA LIMITED RELEASE AND MORE

COOL STUFF

Record Store Day takes place on April 20th 2013. Domino will be releasing the following records including a collaborative record between Austra and Gina X which is an exciting forerunner to the new Austra album out 17th June 2013.  The following can be purchased from your local independent music retailer:

Austra & Gina X – 'Mayan Drums' 12"

Following the announcement of their new album Olympia and recent tour with The xx, Toronto’s Austra have also unveiled a very special collaboration with cult German electro singer Gina X for a limited edition Record Store Day release titled ‘Mayan Drums’. The 12inch, limited to just 500 copies, also features remixes by London dance producer Hervé, Montreal’s Doldrums and Gina X collaborator Zeus B.

Can’s Ege Bamyasi played by Stephen Malkmus & Friends LP (WIGLP311)

After performing and recording Ege Banyasi in its entirety with a band of German musicians at 2012’s Cologne’s WEEK-END festival, Stephen Malkmus’ take on the classic album will be released via Domino for Record Store Day. 500 copies of the LP will be released on red vinyl and Matador will be releasing it on green vinyl in the US. The hand-printed silkscreened sleeve was designed by David Shrigley, who also designed the poster for the event, inspired by the original artwork for Ege Bamyasi.

King Creosote – That Might Well Be It, Darling CD (WIGCD310)

King Creosote has revealed the punch-line to the three EPs he released last year with a CD album, That Might Well Be It, Darling. It compiles all the songs from 2012’s vinyl series, and marks the CD debut of such tours de force as cosmic 80s  hoedown ‘Doubles Underneath’ and devastating prog-pop psalm ‘Ankle Shackles’ (all 11-plus, wine-glass droning minutes of it). The CD will be available through Domino Mart and participating independent stores for Record Store Day.

Orange Juice - You Can’t Hide Your Love Forever LP (REWIGLP49) | Orange Juice – Rip It Up LP (REWIGLP50) | Orange Juice – Texas Fever LP (REWIGLP51) | Orange Juice – The Orange Juice LP (REWIGLP52)

Due to overwhelming demand and to mark the blessed occasion that is Record Store Day, we are pressing up limited special vinyl editions of the original Orange Juice albums. These vinyl editions represent the only existing physical versions of the album available at this juncture. Each have been re-mastered for vinyl, include the original lyrics sheets and printed inner sleeves (save Texas Fever which had none) and will come with the by now de rigueur free digital download card.
