Mr. Mitch announces his return with a five-track EP of new tracks, ‘Primary Progressive’ will be released on the 26th October via Gobstopper records. Watch the Ross Aitken directed video for track 'Settle' above.

‘Primary Progressive’ looks inward to Mitch’s own life experiences for inspiration, forming its own, thoughtful counter to the quiet happiness explored in his music over the last four years. ‘Primary Progressive’ also marks an excursion from the sugary, delicate, away-from-the-club tropes Mitch has pushed both via his own productions and from producers like Orlando and Odeko on Gobstopper. Returning to the dancefloor via the crisp, dancehall twang of tracks like ‘Settle’ and the brooding ‘Phantom Dance’, Mitch proves that he still has a tight grip on making the club both move and think.

Following a two week road trip through the southwestern United States, Lenker headed into the studio with longtime friend Luke Temple. The songs chosen for this collection were the songs that felt the most alive in the room. These are not castaways or B-sides. Some of these songs have been alive for years while some were written just days before the session

Domino are thrilled to mark the return of Georgia with her new single, “Mellow” feat. Shygirl. “Mellow” is the first release from Georgia since 2017’s “Feel It” and sees Georgia honing her deft production craft, moving towards a deeply euphoric and seductive exploration into the underground club sound. Listen above.

Mixed by David Wrench with programming from Ragz Originale, “Mellow” features a vocal collaboration from Shygirl, who is part of the London-based collective, NUXXE.As Georgia notes, with the club sound of “Mellow”, Shygirl’s fierce vocal addition is “perfect, edgy & almost non-human like, as if she's the voice of your hedonistic sub conscience!" Since the 2015 release of her self-titled debut LP, Georgia has been busy in the studio and out, with guest features on tracks by Honne, alongside taking on producer duties for a number of other acts and working on her own set of new recordings.

The artwork for “Mellow” features the photograph ‘Marie Clair & Anna, 12, after Daisy’s Slumber Party 1991’ by renowned, influential American documentary and portrait photographer, Nancy Honey. The image is from her series of photographs entitled ‘Entering The Masquerade’ published by the National Museum of Photography Film & Television in 1992.

Jon Hopkins 'Singularity'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Taken from his critically acclaimed new album, Singularity, Jon Hopkins is very proud to share the video for the title track. Directed by Academy Films’ Seb Edwards, ‘Singularity’ is a visual pinnacle of the album’s arc and a continuation and deepening of all the themes that pervade Jon Hopkins’ work. Watch above.

Jon Hopkins says of the video: “This is the single most epic video I’ve ever had made. Seb has been a friend and collaborator for nearly 15 years now, but this is the first opportunity we’ve had to work with total freedom on a video for my own music. The power of what he has done left me speechless the first time I saw it. He translated the themes of destruction and defiance that I fed into the music into a powerful, violent ballet between male and female and I totally love it.”

Director Seb Edwards adds:  “I've always loved Jon’s work and we've been wanting to collaborate for a while. ‘Singularity’ is such an incredible track, its merciless intensity somehow reflects our troubled times. I wanted to capture the feeling of defiance that rises from the initial brutality. The track is ultimately about acceptance and finding peace in nature. I hope I did it justice.”

Haiku Salut release their third album 'There Is No Elsewhere' on the 7th September 2018 via PRAH recordings, watch the video for first single 'The More and Moreness' above.

Haiku Salut consists of multi-instrumentalists Gemma Barkerwood, Sophie Barkerwood, and Louise Croft. Between them, Haiku Salut play accordion, piano, glockenspiel, trumpet, guitar, ukulele, drums, and melodica. Their music also features electronic elements, which they refer to as "loopery and laptopery". Influenced by the evocative film soundtracks of Yann Tiersen and Benoît Charest, the genre-melting electronica of early Múm, and the impressionistic writing of Haruki Murakami, the band released their debut album Tricolore in 2013, to critical acclaim, which was followed in 2015 by the equally acclaimed Etch And Etch Deep (“the album Four Tet might have made after Rounds” – The Observer).

This year’s release, There Is No Elsewhere, is Haiku Salut’s first album for neo-classical and electronica label PRAH Recordings and sees the trio continue their distinctive re-imagining of dreampop and rural electronica. It also sees the band finally find their place, both musically and politically.

NEW SIGNING: HEN OGLEDD 'MOGIC' OUT 16TH NOVEMBER 2018 (WEIRD WORLD/DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
Hen Ogledd 'Problem Child'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Weird World are proud to welcome Hen Ogledd and their new record, Mogic, due for release on 16th November 2018. Founded by Richard Dawson and harpist, Rhodri Davies, with the addition of Dawn Bothwell and Sally Pilkington, Hen Ogledd’s meaning comes from the Welsh name for The Old North. Along with the news of Mogic, Hen Ogledd take you on a psychedelic journey through time and space in the new video for ‘Problem Child’. Watch above.

Mogic is Hen Ogledd’s third LP (their first for Weird World), and their most surprising and accessible work yet.

Each hailing from historically different tribal regions of the Old North, the musicians on Mogic challenge the idea that the ancient world was rife with magic, while the new is infiltrated by cold logic. The tracks on Mogic create new phantasmal blends of images and ideas that draw upon the mystical and technological. Mogic is a discombobulating pop prayer exploring artificial intelligence, witches, nanotechnology, pre-medieval history, robots, romance, computer games and waterfalls.

This dynamic record of eddies and swirls, ravishing melodies, hallucinatory textures and bonkers rhythms is pinned down by some deft performances: Pilkington’s picture-perfect pop and earthy singing, Davies’ blazing harp splutterations and guitar moans, Bothwell's twisted telephone techno and bamboozling lyric-bombs and Dawson's utter bass. No small mention must go to special guest Will Guthrie, one of the finest and classiest drummers there is, who's all over this record like long grass on dunes.

STEVE MASON 'ABOUT THE LIGHT' OUT 18TH JANUARY 2018 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN

GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Steve Mason has announced details of his new album, About The Light, which is out on Double Six on Friday 18th January 2019.  About The Light is his fourth solo album following Boys Outside (2010), Monkey Minds In The Devil’s Time (2013) and Meet The Humans (2016). Stars Around My Heart, the first track to be shared from the album, is accompanied by a suitably out-there video directed by Brother Willis (www.brotherwillis.com). Watch above.

Talking about the Spielberg meets Ashes to Ashes video, Brother Willis said:

“The concept and inspiration were very much a collaborative effort with Steve.  We share a mutual love for the textures and warm personality that outdated formats have in contrast to the crisp HD 8K of today.  It was an incredible collaborative experiment to shoot on Tube Camera and modern camera and put it all out to tape and back to try and achieve the feeling of watching a beloved sci-fi movie from your youth.  And a good excuse to have amazingly talented people build an alien vessel and hone their early 80’s visual effects skills. We were aiming for an uplifting, Psychedelic Spielberg effect that hopefully we achieved.”

Picking Stephen Street to produce the album, and with a very clear plan in mind, from the off the goal was to capture the songs live and draw out their soulful elements.  Talking about the process, Stephen Street says, “Steve explained that he wanted to make this album with his band playing more ‘live’ than on some of his previous offerings and also to augment the songs with brass and female backing vocalists. I felt this approach of first stripping back the songs to a more ‘live’ feel to create more space for the more ‘soulful’ elements to breathe in was an interesting one and we got down to work!”

Recorded at studios in London and Brighton, About The Light, sees a subtle yet noticeable evolution in Steve’s sound.

“It’s a beautiful, confident, positive, angry, loving and gentle album which once again moves what I do forward,” he adds.  “David Bowie said that you should always be slightly out of your comfort zone if you want to achieve greatness, and for the first time perhaps ever, I deliberately pushed myself into that place. Who doesn’t want greatness?”

HOW TO DRESS WELL 'THE ANTEROOM' OUT 19TH OCTOBER 2018 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
How To Dress Well 'The Anteroom'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

How To Dress Well announces The Anteroom, the upcoming album from Thomas Krell will be out October 19th on Domino.  Co-produced by Joel Ford (Ford & Lopatin, Airbird) How To Dress Well shares the first single from the album – “Nonkilling 6 | Hunger”. Watch the collaborative effort, written and directed by Krell and visual artist Justin Daashuur Hopkins, with help from Hopkins’ NOH/WAVE collective, above.

The stories Krell sings on this record – some biographical, many from the most knotted corners of human life – are deeply personal and human(e). The Anteroom - with its blizzardous electronic noise, fragile melodies and poignant poetry - reclaims the experimental core of the HTDW project.

As TK puts it: “I wrote the record after moving to Los Angeles, which is a crazy and maybe dreadful place, right after the 2016 election, with hell and death gaining ground all around us on every corner of the globe. The Anteroom is testament to a two year period in which I felt myself slipping out of the world and into a cosmic loneliness in which I would eventually be dissolved. In order to give myself a way back, I began to try to understand my station as some kind of anteroom – a space between – a chamber that separates the known and the unknown, stable life from total disintegration.” Teetering on treacherous precipices, living in an uncanny new place, Krell found his way back around to the sound and inspiration of his early work, and to his grandest statement yet – the culmination of a 10-year journey, and the dawn of a daring new one.

The song “Nonkilling 6 | Hunger” opens with a stanza from Li Young-Lee, one of the many poets sampled and featured on The Anteroom. Much of the video features interactively generated digital visual work by Cloaking, and all the effects in the video were generated by combining digital fx with analog in-camera techniques, yielding a physically intense lo-fi/hi-fi hybrid a union that is echoed in the music of The Anteroom

PLANNINGTOROCK 'POWERHOUSE' OUT 9TH NOVEMBER 2018 (DOMINO PUBLISHING)

Planningtorock 'Powerhouse'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Dance producer Planningtorock aka Jam Rostron announces their fourth album 'Powerhouse' out on the 9th November via Human Level/DFA records. Watch the video for lead single 'Transome' above.

Powerhouse marks the Berlin-via-Bolton producer’s most intimate album to date, a kinetic, self-produced record flush with attitude, humour, vulnerability and swagger. The LP offers up some- thing infinitely more personal: emotionally-charged, biographical anthems drawn from Rostron’s lived experiences as a non-binary genderqueer artist, experiences around family, identity and music itself.

The album was written and recorded across Berlin, London, New York and Los An- geles. It comes couched in the precision-tooled synths that have become Rostron’s signature, though critics and fans will hear a subtle, ear worm-y shift in style here: from the Noughties US r&b swagger of ‘Transome’ and the bubbling oldschool ‘90s house of 'Beulah Loves Dancing' and ‘Non Binary Femme’, to the funky, flute-laced ‘Much To Touch’ (the only track on Powerhouse to feature a co-producer, long-time friend and collaborator Olof Dreijer of The Knife).

The striking, pitched-down vocals that shook fans of W are as radiant as ever on Pow- erhouse. It was pitching that gave Rostron’s then-hidden inner self an authentic, exter- nal voice; and it was pitching that enabled them to come out, beginning “this long, complex and very much still evolving process of living their non-binary genderqueer self”.

JULIA HOLTER 'AVIARY' OUT 26TH OCTOBER 2018 (DOMINO ALL-IN)

DOMINO ALL-IN
Julia Holter 'Aviary'
GET: MP3 | WAV | LICENSE

Aviary is an epic journey through what Julia Holter announces her latest album 'Aviary' to be released on 26th October via Domino. Watch the video for I Shall Love 2 above.

It’s the Los Angeles composer’s most breathtakingly expansive album yet, full of startling turns and dazzling instrumental arrangements. The follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2015 record, Have You in My Wilderness, it takes as its starting point a line from a 2009 short story by writer Etel Adnan: "I found myself in an aviary full of shrieking birds." It’s a scenario that sounds straight out of a horror movie, but it’s also a pretty good metaphor for life in 2018, with its endless onslaught of political scandals, freakish natural disasters, and voices shouting their desires and resentments into the void.

Aviary, executive produced by Cole MGN and produced by Holter and Kenny Gilmore, combines Holter's slyly theatrical vocals and Blade Runner-inspired synth work with an enveloping palette of strings and percussion that reveals itself, and the boundless scope of her vision, over the course of fifteen songs. Holter was joined by Corey Fogel (percussion), Devin Hoff (bass), Dina Maccabee (violin, viola, vocals), Sarah Belle Reid (trumpet), Andrew Tholl (violin), and Tashi Wada (synth, bagpipes).

After 'Ataraxia' in 2015, Polylust in 2016, and 'Premature Love Songs' in 2017, she's back with her latest single 'Ring'. At the age of 27, Michelle sings about a life changing, the things that seem to escape with youth and the difficulty of finding a place in a society where things always seem to be more demanding and formatted. Meanings get crossed like solos recorded on blind takes and somehow still, intertwining.
