Alec Koone aka Balam Acab, like Salem and oOoOO, traverse the same shadowy territories that seem at once sensual and unnerving. Balam Acab creates something akin to Burial being slowly drowned in an ocean of drone, a cybernetic limbo haunted by distant machine moans, those trademark ghostly digi-diva vocals positively lost in another world all together. Balam Acab’s latest EP “See Birds” has been long awaited. After being released on the Tri Angle label in August 2010, the EP has had a number of great reviews, with many comparisons being made to other highly influential artists such as Salem and Burial.
