Allison Crutchfield (P.S. Eliot, Swearin’) has announced her debut solo album. It’s called Tourist in This Town, and it’s out via Merge Records. She has also shared a music video for the album’s first offering, “Dean’s Room.” Directed by Lara Jean Gallagher, the video (watch below) shows scenes of Crutchfield dancing around a home alongside the dancer Marlee Grace. Austra, the recording project led by Canadian vocalist and producer Katie Stelmanis, is pleased to announce Future Politics, the third full length in their discography.

Inspired by her time living in two cities – Montreal and Mexico City – and propelled by economic and philosophical texts she was reading throughout the album’s creation, Stelmanis was driven to face the world’s ailments with positivity, purpose, and engagement, rather than detachment or despair. There is a house by a river by a village by the foot of the South Wiltshire downs in which North Sea Radio Orchestra’s Craig and Sharron Fortnam live. A wheezing dog and a crackling fire were the backdrop to the creation of ‘King of the Down’, which was written, recorded and performed by Craig with additional vocals by Sharron, and features songs about the Mighty Thames, Roman Roads, ditches and mounds, vapour trails and mental un-health.
